n
How do you create/do it?
Ask yourself:
What skill is being practiced?
What knowledge and skills are needed?
Is there a clear purpose and direction?
Is it time appropriate?
Make sure you accommodate for special needs students
In order to set students up for success, do the following:
Teach interdependence/independence learning skills
Teach time management
Teach students to
ask for help
- this will clue the teacher in to possibilities for necessary accommodations
Ensure home/school connection so that there is a wealth of support for each student
Start homework in school so that the student isn't solely relying on home support to complete assignments
Make sure environment is suitable for special needs students
Think about the environment, and the learner in that environment
Make sure teacher communicates expectations clearly!
n
What are the benefits?
n
Learning goals are met
Students are comfortable in their environment

and
home
